My building journey.

Pick a way to see them. Each mode tells the same story in a different voice.

Startup Weekend Auckland

Where it all started.

The first entrepreneurship event I ever attended. 54 hours, sleep deprived, and no actual product delivered! But I got some good experience. Spontaneously pitched on Friday night, pivoted ideas too many times, and argued with team mates the rest of the time. It was just great!

Random Quote Generator Machine

Press a button. Get a quote. Magic.

The very first thing I built going through the freeCodeCamp curriculum when I was learning to program. A button, an API call, an array of quotes, and a lot of pride. I still haven't used it though.

Local Weather App

It was sunny and warm the day this shipped.

My second API call. Lots of debugging and trying things out. Then it finally worked. I couldn't stop smiling afterwards. It was a thing of beauty. I even thought I was a pro and started applying for jobs.

Facial Image Recognition App

The AI can find your face.

My first course-guided project. Upload a photo and watch the Clarifai API detect whether any faces are present. It draws coloured boxes around each one. Full-stack with auth, a Node backend, and a PostgreSQL database. I learned a ton from making this.

First React2019

Tic Tac Toe

The computer always wins unless you cheat.

I built my first React project all by myself thanks to the knowledge I gained from my previous project. I even implemented the MiniMax algorithm into it. It took me a while to grasp the React way of component thinking. Then it was magical.

Most Polluted Cities

Turns out fresh air is a premium.

I had to build this project in 5 days for a job interview. It finds the top 10 most polluted cities in 4 European countries using real air quality index data. I finished it, and didn't even make the cut for an interview.

Star Wars Plot Generator

A plot from out of this galaxy

Another project for another interview. Built in ~2 weeks. A Star Wars random episode generator with a super cool UI. This time I made it to the final interview round. Yay! However no job offer, but later on this project helped me get my first developer job.

Hackathon2021

HackZurich Hackathon

Nothing like being sleep-deprived and coding.

Attended Europe's largest hackathon as an actual frontend developer. 40 hours of building, limited sleep and one demo video showcasing what could have been. The idea was solid as we made it to the finals.

Squid Games: Glass Bridge Challenge

Glass breaks. Clock is still ticking.

Inspired by MrBeast's Squid Games YouTube video. I speed recreated the glass bridge challenge as an addicting browser game. Can you get across before time runs out?

LabLab.ai Gemini Hackathon

Pushing the limits of AI capabilities.

My second hackathon. This time over a week and using the newest Gemini 2.5 AI model with a mixed team of friends and strangers. We shipped, we delivered a working demo app, but we didn't place. Overall it was a solid team and effort.

Pre-Trading Emotions Checker

Green zone: trade. Red zone: go for a walk.

Inspired by my own struggles of trading when I shouldn't be. A simple emotional-state gauge built to answer one question before every trading session: am I mentally fit to trade right now?

BacktestingLab

Building something truly epic!

Building out of my need to greatly improve and elevate my trading. A tool to intelligently backtest day trading strategies on past historical data. Still building and sharing my progress in public. Every week until it's finished.
